With more than 40 years experience working as a community artist, researcher and writer, he explores the theory of participatory art and the importance of cultural identity.
His work for TRACTION principally concerns helping the artistic partners make the most of their projects in collaboration with communities and to encourage the successful inclusion of these groups in the delivery of creative work.
In addition to TRACTION he works on community art projects, undertakes research and writes – his latest book, ‘A Restless Art’ describes the history, theory and practice of participatory art.
